What are Thermalite Shutters?

They are our number 1 selling Shutter mainly due to their 25 year warranty.  They can be used both internally and externally.

What are Basswood Shutters?

Basswood is a Hardwood used for Furniture and Shutters.

Our Basswood Shutters are all made in our Queensland Factory unlike other companies that sell Chinese made Shutters.

What are Western Red Cedar Shutters?

Western Red Cedar is a beautiful lightweight timber with a wonderful grain texture ideal for that natural or wood stained look.  Because they are lightweight, shutter panels can be made a lot wider than Basswood or the Chinese Imported.

Western Red Cedar has been a favourite timber for Shutters and Blinds in Australia for a long time and we make them all in our Queensland Factory.

Can I use Thermalite outside?
Yes – both inside and out.

Can I use Basswood outside?

No – only inside

Can I use Aluminium outside?

Yes – 95% of all sales are for external use.

Why should I buy Australian Made Shutters and Blinds?

1. Because the delivery times are a lot quicker.

Why should I not buy Chinese Made Shutters?

1. We say you can buy what ever you wish, however Chinese made Shutters take up to 9 weeks to be delivered.
2. They cannot be repaired here in Australia.
3. You can never deal direct with the Manufacturer.
4. Most of the Chinese  made Shutters cannot be repainted.  If one is damaged you must order a new shutter as it cannot be repaired here in Australia and you will have to wait up to 9 weeks AGAIN.

Can I buy Thermalite from China?

No – only from Australia and America.  Chinese made Shutters go under many names so as to confuse people.  The most common Chinese Shutters are Artwood, Craftwood, Thermashield,  Woodlor, Woodbury, Eco Wood, MDF and Basswood.

Why Should we deal with a Manufacturer?

If you have to ask this question maybe you should not be buying window coverings just yet.

How good is a Warranty?

Only as good as the Manufacturer.  If they have only been in business for 6 months, how long will they last.  So how long is the warranty? These are the questions you must ask every Company you talk to.  If its not made in Australia you cannot go back to the manufacturer.
