Decor Blinds has manufactured window furnishings in Queensland since 1985. Every shutter, blind and screen we fit in Ipswich is made to measure in our own factory at Seventeen Mile Rocks, which sits on the Ipswich side of Brisbane. Ipswich is one of the closest regions we serve.
That closeness shows up in two places. The in-home measure is easy to book, because a van is often already heading west. And when something needs adjusting years later, the people who made it are still here, with the tooling and the stock to fix it.
The free in-home measure and quote is the same service we run across Brisbane. Someone comes to the house, looks at the aspect and the heat load, and tells you what will and will not work in that position.
Ipswich runs hotter than the coast. It sits inland, away from the sea breeze, and summer afternoons on a west-facing wall are as hard on a house as anywhere in South East Queensland. Three things decide what to fit.
Most Ipswich homes have at least one wall that takes the full afternoon sun from about two o'clock on. That is where the heat gets in and where a cheap blind fades first. Thermalite shutters insulate around three times better than timber, and honeycomb blinds trap air in their cells. Both cut what the air conditioner has to fight.

No. The in-home measure and quote is free across Ipswich and the western corridor, the same as Brisbane. Our factory at Seventeen Mile Rocks is about half an hour away.
Manufacturing runs about 15 to 20 business days from approval, roughly four weeks door to door including measure and install. Because we make everything in our own Brisbane factory rather than importing, we are not waiting on shipping.
Inside, Thermalite plantation shutters or honeycomb blinds, both of which insulate rather than just shade. Outside, a ZipScreen or aluminium shutter stops the heat before it reaches the glass, which is the more effective place to stop it.
Yes. Every shutter is made to the exact opening, so out-of-square or unusual window sizes are normal for us. We measure each window individually at the free quote.
